Terms of Use — PowerPlanner

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Appentium ("we", "us") governing your use of the PowerPlanner mobile application and any related services (the "App"). By downloading, installing or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. What PowerPlanner is — and what it is not

PowerPlanner is an estimation and planning tool. It provides calculators and projections for solar panels, batteries, inverters/IPS, backup runtime, electricity costs and related figures, to help you plan and budget a system and sanity-check a supplier's quote.

Safety and accuracy notice PowerPlanner is not a certified engineering tool and does not replace a licensed electrician, solar installer or engineer. Its outputs are estimates based on the figures you enter and on standard published formulas; real-world results vary with equipment quality, wiring, temperature, shading, battery age, installation practice and local regulation. Do not use PowerPlanner as the sole basis for electrical work, equipment purchases or safety decisions. Always have a system designed, verified and installed by a qualified professional in accordance with your local electrical codes. We accept no liability for equipment damage, financial loss, injury or death arising from reliance on the App's output.

Financial figures — savings, payback periods, return on investment, tariff and net-metering estimates — are illustrative projections, not financial advice and not a guarantee of any outcome.

2. Licence

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on devices you own or control, as permitted by the usage rules of the app store you obtained it from. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, resell, sublicense or redistribute the App or any part of it, except where such restriction is prohibited by law.

3. Accounts

Most of the App — including every calculator — works without an account. An optional account (via Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In) enables syncing saved plans across devices, participating in the Community, and restoring purchases on a new device.

You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction, and at least 13 years old, to create an account.

Deleting your account. You can permanently delete your account at any time from within the App (More → Delete account). This deletes your account and its associated data from our systems. Purchases are tied to your app store account, not ours, and are not reversed by deleting your PowerPlanner account.

4. Purchases and subscriptions

The App is free to use and supported by advertising. "PowerPlanner Pro" is an optional paid upgrade, available as an auto-renewing subscription or as a one-time lifetime unlock. The exact plans, durations and prices are shown in the App before you buy, in your local currency.

Auto-renewing subscriptions

Payment is charged to your app store account when you confirm the purchase.
The subscription renews automatically at the same price and period unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal in your app store account settings after purchase. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription covering the same content.

Lifetime unlock

The lifetime option is a one-time, non-consumable purchase. It does not renew and cannot be cancelled. It remains available to the app store account that bought it and can be restored on a new device using "Restore Purchases".

Refunds are handled by the app store that processed your payment, under its own policies — not by us. We cannot issue, reverse or guarantee a refund for a store purchase.

We may change prices or the features included in Pro. Price changes do not affect a billing period already paid for, and where required we will seek your consent or give you the chance to cancel before a changed price takes effect.

5. Advertising

The free tier displays advertising supplied by third-party ad networks, including Google AdMob. Some features may optionally be unlocked by watching a rewarded advertisement. Ads are removed for Pro users. Where required by law we present a consent choice governing how advertising data about you is used; you can change that choice at any time from the App's settings.

6. AI-assisted features

Some features (such as the AI Energy Advisor, AI plan generation and bill scanning) use third-party AI services. AI output is generated automatically, may be inaccurate or incomplete, and is offered as a starting point for your own judgement — never as professional engineering, legal or financial advice. Do not submit sensitive personal information to these features. The safety notice in section 1 applies fully to AI output.

7. Community and user content

The App includes a Community area where users can post and comment ("User Content"). You retain ownership of what you post. By posting, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and distribute that content within the App for the purpose of operating the service.

Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users on PowerPlanner. Content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, defamatory, sexually explicit, violent, discriminatory, deceptive, spam, or that promotes unsafe electrical practice, will be removed. Accounts responsible may be suspended or terminated without notice.

Every post and comment can be reported from within the App, and any user can be blocked. We review reports and act on them, ordinarily within 24 hours, by removing content and/or ejecting the user who provided it. You can view and manage the users you have blocked in the App's Community settings.

You are solely responsible for what you post. We do not endorse User Content and do not verify the accuracy of technical claims made by other users — including any system design, wiring or safety guidance. Treat advice from other users with the same caution as the App's own estimates.

8. Acceptable use

Do not use the App for any unlawful purpose or in breach of any applicable regulation.
Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the App, our systems, or another user's account.
Do not interfere with, overload, scrape or disrupt the service or its supporting infrastructure.
Do not impersonate any person or organisation, or misrepresent your affiliation with one.
Do not upload malware or anything designed to harm the service or its users.

9. Third-party services

The App relies on third-party providers to function, including cloud hosting and authentication, purchase processing, advertising, push notifications, AI services, and weather and geocoding data. Your use of the App is also subject to those providers' terms, and their handling of data is described in our Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy or conduct of third-party services, and links to external sites are provided for convenience only.

10. Intellectual property

The App, its name, design, interface, text and graphics are owned by Appentium and protected by intellectual property law. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership to you. The underlying physical and electrical formulas the App applies are standard published knowledge and are not claimed as proprietary.

11. Availability and changes to the service

We may add, change, suspend or discontinue features at any time. We aim to keep the App available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features that depend on third-party services may become unavailable if those services change or end.

12. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App's calculations, forecasts, AI output or cost projections are accurate, complete or suitable for your circumstances.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Appentium will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, savings, data, equipment or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the App — including decisions made in reliance on its estimates. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 25.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability or exclusions of implied warranties, so parts of sections 12 and 13 may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

14. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time and delete your account from within it. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, including the Community rules in section 7. Sections 1, 10, 12, 13 and 15 survive termination.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of Bangladesh will have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory consumer law of your country of residence, or of the right to bring proceedings there.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the App changes or the law requires. The "Last updated" date at the top will change, and material changes will be notified in the App or by other reasonable means. Continuing to use the App after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

17. Apple App Store — additional terms

The following applies where you obtained the App from the Apple App Store:

These Terms are between you and Appentium only, not with Apple. Appentium, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content.
Your licence is limited to using the App on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation regarding the App.
Appentium, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claim relating to the App, including product liability, failure to conform to legal requirements, and consumer protection claims.
Appentium, not Apple, is responsible for investigating and resolving any third-party claim that the App infringes intellectual property rights.
You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as terrorist-supporting, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, have the right to enforce them against you.
