PowerPlanner — Privacy Policy

Effective 2 September 2026 · Last updated 2 September 2026

This policy explains what the PowerPlanner mobile app ("the App"), published by Appentium ("we", "us"), collects, why, and what control you have over it. It applies to the App and to powerplanner.appentium.com.

The short version

1. Information you give us

2. Information collected automatically

3. Location

Location is optional and requested only when you open the Solar Forecast or ask the App to detect your site automatically. Your coordinates are used to fetch local sunlight and weather data and to look up a place name for display.

We send those coordinates to Open-Meteo for the forecast and to OpenStreetMap Nominatim for reverse geocoding. We do not store a history of your locations on our servers, and the App works without location — you can enter a location manually instead.

4. AI-assisted features

The AI Energy Advisor, AI plan generation and electricity-bill scanning are powered by the Google Gemini API.

Please do not enter sensitive personal information into the AI features. Google's handling of this data is governed by its own terms; see the Gemini API terms.

5. Purchases

Payments are processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see or receive your card details. We use RevenueCat to validate receipts and to know whether your PowerPlanner Pro access is active. RevenueCat receives a purchase identifier, the product bought, your country and, if you are signed in, your account identifier, so that access follows you across devices.

6. Advertising and your choices

The free tier of the App shows advertising supplied by Google AdMob. Ads are removed entirely for PowerPlanner Pro users.

We do not track you across other companies' apps and websites On iOS, the App does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission and does not access the device's advertising identifier (IDFA). Ads shown on iOS are contextual rather than personalised from cross-app activity.

On Android, Google's advertising ID may be used to serve and measure ads, subject to the consent choice described below and to your device settings — you can reset or delete that ID under Settings → Google → Ads.

Where required by law — including in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland — we show a consent form from Google's User Messaging Platform before serving personalised advertising. You can reopen that form and change your choice at any time from the App's settings, under the ad privacy options.

7. How we use information

8. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)

9. Who we share information with

We do not sell personal information. We share it with the service providers below, only as needed to run the App:

We may also disclose information where legally required, to investigate abuse or fraud, or as part of a merger or acquisition — in which case we will say so before your information becomes subject to a different policy.

10. Community content is public

Anything you post in the Community — including your display name, profile photo and any images you attach — is visible to other users of the App. Please do not post information you would not want to be public. Content you report, and moderation decisions, are visible to our moderators.

11. Retention and deletion

Calculations, plans and settings stay on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App. If you are signed in, synced copies are kept until you delete them or delete your account.

You can delete your account at any time from within the App (More → Delete account). This runs a server-side deletion that removes:

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Backups and third-party diagnostic logs may persist for a limited period before expiring. Purchases are held by the app store, not by us, and are unaffected by deleting your account.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict or delete your personal information, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Users in the EEA/UK may also lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority. Users in California may request details of the categories of information collected and disclosed, and we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA.

Most of these you can exercise directly in the App. For anything else, contact us at info@appentium.com and we will respond within the period required by applicable law. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising these rights.

13. Children's privacy

PowerPlanner is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country). Creating an account requires you to be at least that age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

14. Security

Data in transit is encrypted, access to stored content is restricted by server-side security rules, and payment details never reach us. That said, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

15. International transfers

Our service providers operate globally, so your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on the safeguards those providers put in place, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

16. Links to other sites

The App and this site link to services we do not operate. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies.

17. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App changes or the law requires. The "Last updated" date above will change, and material changes will be notified in the App or by other reasonable means.
